On August 20, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 85 near mile marker 109, northbound in Trinity. As a result of the stop, Officers located approximately 44 pounds of cocaine in the trunk area of the vehicle. Antonio Argentine Shaw, the driver and sole occupant in the vehicle, was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of Felony Trafficking in Cocaine. Shaw is currently being held at the Randolph County Detention Center with a $500,000 secured bond and a first appearance set for August 21, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
