On August 26, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office deputy observed a suspicious in the back parking lot of Sheetz on E. Dixie Dr., Asheboro. Upon investigation, the subjects obtained their identification from the trunk of the vehicle.
During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located. Robert Joseph Stewart, of WV, was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and issued a written promise to appear in Randolph County District Court on September 18, 2023.
