On August 30, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Brantley Gordon Rd., Denton. Upon contact, the driver was identified as Kevin Nelson Faucette, and the passenger was identified as Paula Garner Faucette. Communications advised that both had an outstanding warrant from Davidson County for felony larceny. They were both placed under arrest for their warrants. During a subsequent search of Kevin, heroin, methamphetamine, and schedule IV were located in his possession.
Both were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where both received a $3,000 secured bond on their warrants.
The magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of heroin, felony possession of methamphetamines, misdemeanor possession of Schedule IV and misdemeanor expired registration. Kevin received an additional $2,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for August 31, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
The misdemeanor possession of Schedule IV was missed on the original magistrate's order, so a criminal summons was secured for that charge on Kevin.
