On September 24, 2023, Newnam was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her outstanding warrant. She was issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for September 25, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.

On August 3, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Mechanic Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a breaking/entering involving the larceny of multiple firearms. Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) responded to process the scene, collecting evidence.
Following an investigation, which included the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against:
- Brittany Alee Hoskins for felony breaking/entering, felony possession of stolen firearm, felony possession of a firearm by a felon and felony larceny of firearm and the magistrate found probable cause to issue the warrant.
- Hunter Nichole Newnam for felony breaking/entering, felony possession of stolen firearm and felony larceny of firearm and the magistrate found probable cause to issue the warrant.
On August 9, 2023, Hoskins was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served the warrant in this incident. She was also served an outstanding warrant, an order for arrest for failure to appear, and a felony probation violation. She was issued a $200,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for August 8, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
Newnam is still wanted on her charges.
