On September 24, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 311, Sophia, in reference to a burglary in process. The caller stated that a female had walked into their home and was standing in their living room.
Upon arrival to the area, deputies observed a female matching the description given walking in the roadway and detained her. Additional deputies responded to the residence of the victims for information. It was discovered that a vehicle in the driveway had been entered and the female now had on a shirt that had been in the vehicle.
Following the investigation, Toomes was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. The magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony break and enter a motor vehicle, misdemeanor breaking and entering, misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession stolen goods/property. She was issued a $1,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for September 25, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
