On September 26, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Highway Criminal Interdiction Team initiated a traffic stop on I-85 in Archdale. During a subsequent search, approximately four pounds of marijuana was located in the trunk area. The driver, Tyler Robert Jackson from Raleigh, was also concealing a firearm in the vehicle that he did not initially make officers aware of. The marijuana, along with the firearm was seized during this incident.
As a result, Tyler Robert Jackson was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of Felony Possession of Marijuana, Felony Possession With Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Carrying Concealed Weapon. He was given a $2,500 secured bond with a first appearance set for September 27, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
