On October 4, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Bethel Drive Ext., High Point. During the stop, it was determined the passenger, who initially gave a false name, was correctly identified as Shane Foster Hill, who had outstanding orders for arrest. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine was located. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine. He was also served his three outstanding orders for arrest for failure to appear on a felony for possession of methamphetamine out of Guilford County, failure to appear on a misdemeanor for driving while license revoked out of Guilford County, and failure to appear on a misdemeanor for driving while license revoked, hit and run, and failure to maintain lane control out of Randolph County. He was issued a $7,100 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for October 6, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
