On October 10, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Mountain Rd., Trinity, in reference to a welfare check. Randolph Communications advised that a female had been assaulted at the address. Upon arrival, the female was located with obvious injuries and advised someone would be transporting her to a hospital for evaluation. Following the evaluation, hospital staff advised details of the injuries to the deputy and charges were sought against Ty Clinton Martin for felony assault inflicting serious injury. The magistrate found probable cause to issue the warrant.
On October 13, 2023, Martin was located in Davidson County, arrested and transported to the Davidson County Detention Center where he was served the outstanding warrant. He was issued a secured bond of $5,000 and a first appearance was set for November 6, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
