On November 21, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US 64 HWY, Ramseur, in reference to a welfare check. Ramseur Police Department responded for an agency assist due to their close proximity to the address. They informed Communications that there were two occupants sleeping in the vehicle. Upon the arrival of the deputy, the Ramseur Officer had already awakened the subjects. During a consensual search of the vehicle, heroin and paraphernalia were located and seized. The driver was identified as Brenda Marie Cranford, however, did not appear to be under the influence of an impairing substance and was therefore released and advised charges would be forthcoming.
