On December 6, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit concluded an investigation related to the distribution of narcotics in Randolph County. As a result of the investigation, Detectives executed a search warrant on River Ridge Ln. in Thomasville, the residence of Richard Aldeen Grainger. During the search, Detectives located and seized approximately 168 dosage units of Fentanyl, approximately 923 dosage units of Oxycodone, approximately 82.5 dosage units of Alprazolam, and approximately 35.5 dosage units of Amphetamine. Also located and seized was Suboxone, US currency, and a firearm that had been reported stolen.
Richard Aldeen Grainger was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of three counts of felony trafficking in Opium/Heroin, two counts of felony maintaining vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, two counts of felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule IV controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony possess stolen firearm, felony possession of firearm by felon and misdemeanor possess drug paraphernalia. He received a $750,000 secured bond plus rlectronic house arrest with a first appearance set for December 8, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
