On July 17, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sex offense upon minors. Following an investigation of the allegations, Criminal Investigation Detectives sought charges against William James Anderson for two counts of felony indecent liberties with a child, felony sex act by parent/custodian and felony statutory sex offense with a child under 15 years of age.
On January 3, 2024, Anderson was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrants. The magistrate issued a $150,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for January 5, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
