On December 13, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Crestview Church Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a reported assault. Upon arrival, the deputy met with the victim who provided information and evidence for the assault.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Jose Luis Sanchez for felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor assault on a female for which the magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On January 20, 2024, Sanchez was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. He was initially denied bond due to the charges being domestic in nature and a first appearance was set for January 22, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
