On February 11, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, in reference to an assault that had occurred at Oakland Ave., Asheboro. Upon arrival, deputies met with the victim who reported being assaulted by Dillon Eugene Rogers Harrison when she confronted him while he was engaged in a domestic dispute. After collecting evidence and confirming that the victim wanted to pursue charges, deputies went to the Oakland Ave. address to conduct a follow-up investigation but were unable to get anyone to the door. Charges were filed against Harrison as a result of this incident and the magistrate found probable cause for felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor assault on a female and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On February 12, 2024, Harrison was apprehended by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrant and issued a $5,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for February 13, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
