On February 27, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to Clark Ave., Franklinville, in reference to report of a gunshot/assault. Upon arrival, deputies located a female deceased inside the residence and detained a male subject at the scene. The Randolph County Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation. As a result of the investigation, detectives have charged Roy Clay Williams with murder.
Bond was denied and a first appearance is set for February 28, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
