On March 10, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of theft of a skid-steer that had occurred on Charles Mountain Rd., Denton, around March 6th.
Following an investigation by the Urban Interdiction Team, the skid-steer was recovered and charges were sought against Anthony Wayne Carter on March 19, 2024, for felony larceny and felony obtaining property by false pretense.
Later, on March 19, 2024, deputies responded to Finch Farm Rd. in Trinity, due to a report that there was a subject there who possibly had active felony warrants. Upon arrival, deputies located the subject who was identified as Carter, and he was taken into custody. During the search to arrest, methamphetamine was located. He was transported to Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine. He was also served his outstanding warrants and issued a $5,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for March 20, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
