On June 12, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on US Hwy 64 E. During the stop, the passenger, identified as Bobby Aaron Stokes, was determined to be wanted on full extradition out of Danville, Virginia, for various property crimes. He also had two unserved Criminal Summons out of Rockingham County for Misdemeanor Larceny and Misdemeanor Communicating Threats. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his summons and is set to appear in Rockingham County on July 10, 2024.
The deputy went before the magistrate with the information provided by the investigating agency in Virginia and obtained a magistrate’s order for a fugitive. The magistrate issued a $10,000 secured bond with an extradition hearing set for June 13, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
