On July 2, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of Uwharrie Rd., and Circle Dr., Archdale. The female occupant was identified as Tesla Lee Hatcher. Communications alerted that Hatcher had an active warrant through the state of Virginia for probation violation, which was extraditable. Hatcher was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause to issue a magistrate’s order for a fugitive. The magistrate issued a $100,000 secured bond and an extradition hearing was set for July 5, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
