On July 23, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old US Hwy 64, Lexington, in reference to an agency assist with NC Probation and Parole. During a search of William Anthony Stewart, methamphetamine and multiple paraphernalia items were located. Stewart was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $2,500 secured bond and the first appearance was set for July 24, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
