On July 16, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Spring Garden St., Sophia, in reference to locating a possible firearm in a vehicle seized by a lienholder. Following the investigation, deputies located a pellet gun, illegal narcotics, and identification information nd financial cards for Nancy Lynn Shankel.
Following an investigation, charges were sought on Shankel for felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of cocaine and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant.
On July 30, 2024, Shankel was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her warrant and issued a $2,500 secured bond. Her first appearance was held July 31, 2024, in Randolph County District Court and a court date has been set for August 27, 2024.
