On September 24, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division received a request for assistance in locating and serving a warrant out of West Fork Police Department in Arkansas for felony second-degree sexual assault involving a minor on Shay Vincent Brammeier, who was believed to be in Randolph County.
On September 26, 2024, Brammeier was apprehended by the Criminal Apprehension Team on Curry Drive, Asheboro, as a fugitive wanted out of Washington County, Arkansas. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center and the magistrate issued a Fugitive Warrant for felony extradition/fugitive other state and set a $25,000 secured bond. An extradition hearing was set for September 27, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
