The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registry Detective received information that registered sex offender David Edward Donell would be moving. Donell failed to report in person to complete a change of address within three business days of the move. Charges were sought against Donell for felony fail to notify address change.
On October 22, 2024, Donell was located by NC Probation and Parole and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. He was served his order for arrest for a probation violation and given no bond. On October 23, 2024, he was served the outstanding warrant by the Sex Offender Registry Detective. The magistrate issued no bond on this charge and a first appearance was set for October 24, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
