On October 31, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to NC Hwy 49 S., Asheboro, in reference to a reported harassment. During the investigation, it was determined that there was a firearm inside the residence belonging to Kirk White Adams, who is a convicted felon. Adams was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a firearm by a felon. Adams was held without bond and a first appearance was set for November 1, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
