On March 25, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sex offense upon a minor. Following an investigation of the allegations, Criminal Investigation Detectives sought charges against Aaron Michael Coltrane for five counts of felony statutory rape of child under 15 years old and two counts of first-degree statutory sex offense with a child under 13 years of age.
On November 12, 2024, Coltrane was located by the Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrant. The magistrate issued no bond and a first appearance was set for November 13, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
