On November 20, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Gra Lan Dr., Thomasville. Contact was made with the driver who was identified as Harvey Sanford Boone, III. While conducting the stop, it was determined that Boone had an outstanding arrest order for arrest. When deputies asked him to exit the vehicle, he fled the traffic stop and a chase ensued. An additional deputy in the area deployed a tire deflation device and the fleeing vehicle came to a stop on Finch Farm Rd. Boone exited the vehicle and fled on foot with deputies apprehending him a short distance away. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony flee to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, misdemeanor reckless driving to endanger, misdemeanor resisting public officer, misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to ½ oz., misdemeanor no liability insurance, misdemeanor fictitious/altered title/registration card/tag, unsafe passing oncoming traffic, fail to stop at stop sign/flashing red light, fail to stop steady red light, exceeding posted speed, and driving left of center. He was also served his outstanding order for arrest for misdemeanor failure to appear. He received no bond and a first appearance was set for November 21, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
