On August 9, 2021, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sex offense against a minor. Following an investigation of the allegations, Criminal Investigation Detectives sought charges against Christian Jacob McDowell for felony statutory rape of a child of less than 15yrs old and felony first-degree rape.
On October 12, 2021, the Criminal Apprehension Team located, arrested and transported him to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. He was issued a $500,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for October 14, 2021, in Randolph County District Court.
During the December 2024 session of the Randolph County Grand Jury, a True Bill of Indictment was issued on Christian Jacob McDowell for felony first-degree rape of a child, felony first-degree sex offense of child, felony first-degree statutory rape, felony first-degree statutory sex offense against McDowell.
On December 13, 2024, McDowell was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center by the Criminal Apprehension Team, where he was served the True Bill. The magistrate issued No Bond and the next court date was set for December 16, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
