On January 17, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Coltrane Mill Rd., Randleman, in reference to a burglary that had occurred on January 15, 2025. The business provided video surveillance of a vehicle and the male driver on the property. The victim was also provided a list of items that were stolen. The male was believed to be Rodney Wynn Davis, a former employee of the business.
Deputies went to Davis’s address where they located the vehicle and confirmed that it was the one observed on the security footage. Following an initial investigation, a search warrant was obtained. A short time later, Davis was observed driving the vehicle around on the property, opening the trunk, removing items, and placing it under the deck or in the crawl space area.
When the search warrant was executed on the home and vehicle, they located the stolen property. The stolen items were returned to the victim. Davis was not present when the search warrant was presented and executed. Charges were sought against Davis for felony breaking and entering, felony larceny after breaking and entering, and felony possession of stolen goods.
On January 19, 2025, Davis was served his warrant at the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate issued a $1,000 unsecured bond, and a court date was set for February 19, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
