On February 1, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Surrett Drive and Old Turnpike Road, Archdale. The driver was identified as Jerry Lee Baldwin, Jr., who had a suspended driver’s license. He was issued a written warning citation for the expired registration plate and driving on a suspended driver’s license.
Archdale Police Department arrived with a K9, who gave a positive alert for narcotics on the vehicle. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located. Baldwin was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. During the booking process, staff located cocaine hidden in Baldwin’s possession. The magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine, felony maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of a controlled substance on prison/jail premises, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued no bond due to being out on pre-trial release. A first appearance was set for February 3, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
