On February 17, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded US Hwy 220 Bus. N., Randleman, in regards to a larceny/theft of a firearm that had previously occurred.
Upon arrival, the victim reported identifying Steven Eugene Weatherman as the one who stole his firearm from the security footage of the Han-Dee Hugo's on the night of the original incident. The victim called Communications after seeing Weatherman return to the store and then walk to the business next door.
Deputies arrived, identified Weatherman, and then searched the vehicle; locating cocaine and paraphernalia.
Following the investigation and viewing security footage, he was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of cocaine, felony larceny of a firearm, felony possession of a firearm by a felon, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia He was also served an outstanding Order For Arrest for failure to appear on driving while license revoked. He was issued a $7,500 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for February 18, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
