On May 5, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Heathwood Dr., Trinity in reference to the possible location of stolen property. While en route, Randolph Communications advised that the suspect, Thomas Brandon Sims, was wanted for a Parole Violation and that the vehicle he was driving was possibly stolen out of Guilford County. Upon arrival, Sims was located and placed under arrest. During the search to arrest, the key to the vehicle was located in his possession. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was turned over to the NC Department of Adult Corrections and confined under no bond.
He was also served a warrant for arrest out of Guilford for felony larceny of a motor vehicle and issued a $30,000 secured bond with a court date set for May 13, 2025, in Guilford County District Court.
The magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle and issued a $5,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for May 7, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
