On June 14, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Old Thomasville Rd., Archdale, in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, a male was observed attempting to walk up Old Thomasville Rd. who seemed unstable on his feet. He was identified as Dustin Lee Sheppard. During a subsequent search, heroin was located in his possession. Due to his condition, EMS responded and transported to an area hospital for further evaluation.
Charges were sought against Sheppard, and the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of heroin and issued a warrant for arrest.
On July 8, 2025, Sheppard was located in Davidson County, arrested, and transported to the Davidson County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant. He was not issued a bond. A first appearance was set for July 28, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
