On December 5, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Thomasville Rd., Archdale, in reference to an agency assist call. Sampson County Sheriff’s Office had requested a search for a juvenile who had reportedly stolen a vehicle and had been found in this area in the past. The juvenile was not found at this time.
On December 6, 2025, the juvenile was located and secured for pick up by family. The stolen vehicle was located on Belmar Street in High Point. Following the investigation, charges were sought against Howard Wilson McMurray for felony possession of a stolen vehicle and misdemeanor contributing to delinquency of a juvenile and the magistrate found probable cause for the charges and issued a warrant for arrest.
On December 19, 2025, McMurray was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. He received a $7,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for December 22, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
