On January 6, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on US 220 Business. During the stop, they located Jerry Wayne Wimbley, who had outstanding warrants for arrest. The passenger was identified as Asley Lynn Bowman, who had outstanding processes also.
During a subsequent search, concealed weapons, an illegal substance, and paraphernalia were located.
Both were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center.
The magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of a firearm by felon, felony concealed handgun, and felony concealed weapon against Wimbley. He was also served with an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was issued a $1,000 dollar secured bond on the warrant and no bond for the new charges.
The magistrate issued Bowman a preset bond of $35,000 for orders for arrest for failure to appear and a $1,000 dollar bond on a warrant for arrest for misdemeanor larceny. Probable cause was found for the charges of felony possession of a firearm by felon, felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia in which she received an additional $10,000 total secured bond.
A first appearance was set for January 7, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
