On January 14, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Raymond Gray Ln., Archdale, in reference to a citizen assist. Upon arrival, Travis James Overby, who had an order for arrest for failure to appear, was seen walking away from the residence. He failed to comply with commands that deputies gave and began to run. Following a brief foot chase, he was apprehended. During the search to arrest, an illegal substance and paraphernalia were located.
He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of heroin, misdemeanor resting a public officer, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor communicating threats. No bond was given. He was also served two outstanding orders for arrest and received a $5,250 secured bond. A court date set for January 16, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
