On December 1, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received information about possible fraud.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Elizabeth Nicole Philemon for five counts of felony identity theft, five counts of felony financial card theft, and five counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On February 11, 2026, the Criminal Apprehension Team located and apprehended Philemon. She was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate issued no bond and a first appearance was set for February 12, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
