Sheriff's Office Significant Arrests

On November 4, 2022, Parsons was served his outstanding warrants from Randolph County. He was issued an additional $25,000 and a first appearance was set for November 7, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.

On October 27, 2022, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Electronic House Arrest (EHA) Officers were made aware that an area agency had responded to a domestic violence incident in which Travis Lane Parsons, who is on EHA, was the assailant.  Upon their arrival, Parsons had fled the residence on foot and had removed his electronic monitoring device and discarded it in the area of Glovinia St. and Brewer St. 

The EHA Officers responded to collect the device and sought charges. The magistrate found probable cause to issue an Order for Arrest for felony violation of EHA and a warrant for arrest for interfere with electronic monitoring device.   Parson has been on EHA since June 3,2022 for felony intentional child abuse w/ serious boldly injury, felony intentional child abuse w/ serious physical injury and second-degree kidnapping. 

While on patrol in the area of US Hwy 64 east near Asheboro on the morning of October 28, 2022, the Criminal Interdiction Team-Urban Unit responded to a found property report on Luck Road.  Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the complaint and observed a green in color four-wheeler in a ditch. The reporting person stated that sometime during the night, an unknown person left the four-wheeler abandoned.   

Shortly after being on scene, patrol arrived and informed other deputies that a truck had been stolen from a local business.  Information was received and the truck was located by Guilford County Sheriff’s Office who arrested the driver, Travis Lane Parsons.  Guilford County Sheriff’s Office charged Parsons with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle.  The magistrate issued $2,500 bond on their charge and served the outstanding warrants and order for arrest out of Randolph County for which he received a $1,002,500 total secured bond.  His first appearance is set for November 3, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.   

Parsons has also been charged with two counts of felony larceny and misdemeanor injury to personal property for the theft of the truck and four-wheeler.   At the time of this release, the warrant has not been served.

This is still under investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.
