On June 13, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Freedom Trl., Asheboro, in reference to trespassing. The caller reported Lebrandon Montius Banner, who is known by the victim, was at the residence demanding to be let inside. While enroute, the caller reported that Banner had made it inside the residence and was attempting to break into her bedroom where she was hiding. Upon arrival, deputies located Banner inside the residence and an officer was assaulted while they were attempting to arrest him. Banner was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony assault on law enforcement causing serious injury, felony breaking/entering to terrorize/injure, misdemeanor resisting public officer, and misdemeanor domestic criminal trespass. Bond was denied due the charges being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for June 13, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
