On June 26, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Kerr Dr., Randleman, in reference to a burglary. The victim reported items taken from the residence by Tony Dewayne East that did not belong to him. The deputy contacted East, who confirmed he had the items and made arrangements to return the items to the victim.
On July 5, 2023, the deputy made contact with the victim to follow up and was advised that East had not returned the items as agreed. Charges were sought on East and the magistrate found probable cause for felony larceny and issued a warrant. East was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrant and issued a $10,000 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for July 10, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
