On May 28, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sex offense involving a minor.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Jonathan Linden Brown for three counts felony indecent liberties with a child, two counts felony statutory sex offense with child <=15, and felony statutory rape of a child under 15 years old. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant.
On July 12, 2023, Brown was taken into custody at the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served the warrant for arrest. He was issued a $500,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for July 13, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
