On May 31, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Stonehenge Rd., Thomasville, in reference to an assault. Upon arrival, the victim reported details of the incident and evidence was observed. Eric William Blevins was identified as the assailant and had left prior to the call to 911. Blevins also had an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor assault on a female. Deputies searched the area but were unsuccessful in locating him. Charges were sought against Blevins for felony assault by strangulation and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant.
On September 3, 2023, Blevins was located in Davidson County, arrested, and transported to the Davidson County Detention Center where he was served this outstanding warrant and others. He received a $25,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for September 18, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
